Recipe 4 -- Brownie Pudding Cake

Four my fourth recipe, I decided to make Brownie Pudding Cake.

This is the recipe that I used:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, 3/4 cup of the granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of the vanilla; stir until smooth. Stir in chocolate morsels.
  4. Spread batter evenly in an oval baker.
  5. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together remaining 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa; gradually stir in boiling water and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  6. Carefully pour mixture evenly over batter in oval baker.
  7. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle powdered sugar using spoon or sieve. Spoon into dishes for serving.

WARNING: Putting the cake in an oven is kinda terrifying because it is incredibly liquid-y.
Also, ours made a weird like screaming noise and was moving up and down kinda like the guy in alien...
